Our Engagement Story

(How did I get so lucky?)

So, today marks the one month anniversary of Reggie and my engagement! I thought this would be the perfect time to tell the story of the BEST day of my life thus far! So here it goes! For those of you who don't know, Reggie signed a contract to play pro football in Germany. The whole month before our engagement we had no idea what day he would actually be leaving the Great Breadbasket state to embark on an 11 1/2 hour flight around the world. The only thing we knew was that he would be gone by the 1st of April. So, like every couple that is madly in love, we decided to go on as many dates as we could to make the most of the last little bit of time we had together. When March 7th came around, Reggie told me this would be our last fancy date since he would be so busy before he left.

Now, I am one of those girls that loves to get dressed up. Most of the time I'm that one friend that shows up to the party very overdressed. So naturally, I was super excited and spent the day shopping and getting my nails done with one of my best friends. Since this was our last "official" date, I wanted to blow his mind when he picked me up... and by blow his mind I mean, I open the door, the birds sing, the sun is shining perfectly making my skin glow, my long curls are blowing effortlessly in the wind, and Reggie is so taken away by my beauty that he is speechless. Ha! Well news flash Hannah! That only happens in disney movies! By the time I got back from shopping (with only half of my desired outfit) I had about 30 minutes to get ready but it usually took me 30 minutes just to put on my fake eyelashes. Oh what a dilemma! If only I would have mastered these things by now! As I frantically attempted to unglue my eyelids (thinking that was the worst thing that could happen) I get a text from Reggie that said:

"Hey babe, don't be mad but Gatorade is coming with us"

Now  "Gatorade" is Reggies best friend and roommate Johnathan Harris. He's a cool guy and if this was any other date, I wouldn't have had a problem with him coming. But this wasn't any other date. This was our last BIG date together before Reggie left for SEVEN months. This was the last time I got to be super lovey in public! When I pictured this date before, I just knew it would be Nicholas Sparks worthy, but now I knew I would end up being the third wheel on my own date. When I read the text I got an instant attitude. I even went as far as telling my friend Niss, that I didn't even want to go anymore. Like a good friend, she calmed me down and told me that I better get ready and make the most out of the date.  I obviously listened and it was a good thing that I did.

By the time we arrived at PF Changs we were already late (so I thought). As I tried to rush in, Reggie grabbed my hand and told me we were early so we could still go on a walk. Normally I would have thought that was the greatest idea ever, but since we weren't alone and the two ( yes TWO) people that were now with us weren't even dating, I couldn't help but think how awkward it would be. Before I could give it another thought, Reggie quickly made me shut my eyes and lead me away and down some steps.

We awkwardly walked for a few minutes, my eyes closed tight (but not tight enough to mess up my eyelashes), with random thoughts of Germany running through my mind. We suddenly stopped and Reggie instructed me to pick up my foot and step. I picked up my foot and kicked. What? Again? So I did it again. But this time I heard the sound of glass rolling around on the concret. Reggie had to help me lift my leg and step. Oh to see myself! After what seemed like forever, Reggie told me to open my eyes. There he was, standing right infront of me with the ring. Instantly I started crying and then Reggie got on one knee. I cried so much that I missed the perfectly prepared speech Reggie had. After obviously saying yes, I turned to see both of my parents taking pictures and videos of the whole thing! When I was able to stop crying, we all headed back to the restaurant to eat and dwell on this amazing moment. Little did I know, the surprises weren't over yet! As we walked over to our table  all of our friends jumped out of the corner. I was so surprised and happy that I started crying all over again ( so much so that my fake eyelash fell off..oops!). The rest of the night was full of eating delicious food with the best kinds of people.

That night will be one I will always remember! I am so thankful for all the amazing people I have in my life and all the work they put in to make this day special for me us! Most of all I'm so thankful for the amazing man that loves every part of who I am. He is truly everything I ever dreamed of! I'm so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together!

I hope you liked our engagement story!

P.S.  comment below if you have as much trouble with your  false lashes as I do :-)

A Little About Me & Blogging?

Hello Lovelies! My name is Hannah Renee and  I am a college student currently living in Sterling Kansas. My life is full of so many loves that choosing a career has been quite the struggle. Hopefully I can figure that out soon! Aside from that, I love everything about my life!

On March 7th, 2015 I got engaged to the love of my life and best friend Reggie. Our adventures together officially started February 17, 2013 and we have been inseparable ever since.

Since recently my life has taken a very exciting turn, this blog is an outlet for me to document and share all the moments in my life with family, friends and whoever find their way to my little corner of the internet. I think a blog is a great way to share and hold memories tight forever! This blog definitely wont have a main purpose or theme. It will be more of an online diary full of wedding planning, my daily life, thoughts, trips, fashion, food, and updates on Reggie's life in Germany. So, if you think any of that is worth reading, stick around!

I hope you enjoy my scatterbrained blog!
